[ The transformation ]
A UK care provider needed a modern, responsive recruitment presence for domiciliary and specialist care.
A fast, modern recruitment platform live for a real UK care business.
[ The hard problem ]
Building a responsive healthcare recruitment platform that meets UK accessibility standards while presenting complex service offerings clearly.
[ How it works ]
I built a responsive Next.js and Tailwind platform, verified with Playwright before every deploy. Four decisions shaped it:
Urgent staffing cannot be made to hunt for a phone number
Cover requests are time-critical, so the contact route is persistent rather than a destination — reachable from any point on any page, with a dedicated emergency path beside the ordinary enquiry one.
Three service lines, kept distinct
Care at home, supported living and residential services each read as their own offer rather than one blurred list, so a visitor lands on the one they came for.
Zoom left switched on
The viewport permits scaling to 5× rather than locking it. Blocking pinch-zoom is the most common accessibility failure on a mobile build, and this sector’s audience is the least able to afford it.
Metadata treated as part of the build, not an afterthought
Titles, descriptions, keywords, Open Graph and Twitter cards and robots directives are all set at the layout, so every route shares the same locale and social presentation instead of inheriting a default.
[ Key features ]
Persistent contact route, with a separate path for emergency cover
Three service lines presented distinctly rather than as one list
Pinch-zoom preserved to 5× — accessibility over pixel control
Full metadata set at the layout: Open Graph, Twitter cards, robots, en-GB locale
Playwright-backed checks before deploy
Statically pre-rendered throughout
